Have you ever experienced the all-out excitement of opening a book you know will transport you into another world?
If you haven’t, let’s get something straight here: it’s not your fault.
There are so many books out there. Between 600,000 and 1 million books are published in the US alone. Though the statistics vary, that’s a heck-ton of books!
And sadly, not all of those books are great. Not all of them are the type of books that wake you up, set your imagination on fire, and immerse your senses in another world.
And chances are, you’re a busy person. Maybe you’re in college, putting in the hours for those a-plusses to increase your chances of scholarship money. Maybe you’re hustling for a higher position at your job. Maybe you’re a parent who’s super invested in your kids. You don’t have time to leaf through those thousands-upon-thousands of books to find one that’s worthwhile.
That’s where I come in.
I live for the thrill of the chase. I’ll rifle through the library stacks for hours to find good books, because I live for books with relatable characters, knee-slappingly hilarious dialog, immersive details, expanding universes, and themes that translate into real life. Those books make me see the world with new, more imaginative eyes. They lend a sense of adventure to everyday life. There are also a lot of scientifically-proven benefits to reading good books — stress reduction, improved brain function, and enhanced creativity, to scrape some snowflakes off the tip of the iceberg.
This blog is for sharing those books with you.
If you’re a multipassionate, hardworking human who wants to experience these benefits without going on a wild goose chase through your local library, then this blog is for you.
